On November 8, Lawrence Siskind gave a scary lunchtime talk to the Bar Association of San Francisco on “Zombie” trademarks. He analyzed the legal problems arising from attempts of newcomers to exploit brands discarded by their onetime owners. The presentation looked at recent case law, and also presented practical advice, both for the former owners of the brands and for the newcomers intent upon reviving them.
