Ian is a founding attorney of Siskind Boyd LLP and a partner in the firm since 2003. His practice emphasizes commercial litigation and counseling; trademark and copyright clearance, prosecution, and enforcement; and trade secret and advertising law.
Ian assists clients with their litigation and intellectual property needs in multiple industries, including food and beverage, semiconductor, biotech, enterprise file sharing, book publishing, venture capital and big data, among others. He has provided counsel for hearings before a U.S. Senate Subcommittee and currently serves as the general counsel to a multi-billion dollar global beverage corporation.
Ian is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and serves on both the Leadership Development Committee and the Presidential Task Force, at the request of INTA’s President. He is a Past President of the San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association and has presented at numerous events, including the Product Liability Advisory Council Annual Meeting and at both INTA’s Annual Meetings and Leadership Meetings.
Ian graduated with a degree in mathematics from the University of California at Santa Barbara, before obtaining his law degree at the University of San Francisco. He graduated cum laude and served as Articles Editor of the U.S.F. Law Review. He is also a member of the McAulliffe Honor Society and received the American Jurisprudence Award while at U.S.F.
